Passport issued for the first time to children born abroad of Dominican parents

DESCRIPTION

The passport is the official document issued by the Dominican Republic to its citizens with the main purpose that they can travel abroad and move from one country to another. The passport book of the Dominican Republic is bio metric and is issued for six (6) years. The passport is essential for the carrier to travel to the Dominican Republic and to be properly identified.

The parents of Dominican children born abroad can go to the Dominican consular offices and request the issuance of a Dominican Passport, which will be delivered to them provided that the requirements established by the Dominican laws and provisions have been met. The consular office will deliver a Bio metric Passport with all the security and reliability guarantees suggested by the ICAO for passports.

Every Dominican citizen has the right to request the passport of their children born abroad in the consular offices of the Dominican Republic.

  • To apply for the passport of children born abroad, you must declare it at the Consulate, and then transcribe the certificate of the record before the JCE in the Dominican Republic, or directly make the Transcript of the Birth Certificate of the country of birth of the child (APOSTILLADA and translated, if applicable).

See steps to transcribe the Birth Certificate in R.D.
